Paris, Tennessee, that is!! But, don't underestimate this tiny old town! It has it's own little nooks and crannies of charm!
I came down here last Saturday to watch my two neices for a week: Lauren (11) and Morgan (7). My sister, Michelle, and her husband, Patrick, went on a cruise out to Mexico! I know, jealous, right!? They left 10 inches of snow to go sip margaritas on a warm sandy beach! We had our own fun over here, though! On Sunday morning we woke up and I cooked a big warm breakfast before we went out and played in the snow! There were snowball fights, four (still standing) snowmen, and a cute little Igloo made by Adrian. It was really fun; so fun, I didn't realize we were out there for 3 hours! It was fun to see Izzie play out in the snow for her first time, too! She was in her own little heaven running and screaming and making snow angels! We've done a ton of craft projects, and I took some pics of the girls in Michelle's studio. ( FYI, photography is not so easy as just pointing a camera and shooting, people...) But, it was fun and I learned a few things while the girls played dress up and danced around!
Well, today, after I picked the girl up from school, we went out to Trolingers. What is Trolingers, you ask? Ohhh yum! It is one of the hidden gems here! It's a little market that has a full deli in the back, and not just any deli! Their deli is loaded with fresh sirloin, fresh ribeye, fresh pork and all sorts of other fresh fish and meats you can think of. They have whole racks of meat, or else you can tell them what kind of meat you want and how thick you want it sliced. So, tonight we had 1 inch thick cut sirloins with country potatoe salad and baked beans (both, also, bought at the deli). You don't even have to flavor steaks this fresh, they were amazing! And, surprisingly, it is half the price of a grocery store steak... wierd, huh?
Today was the first day that I actually took the girls to school and picked them up from school, because they were out Monday and Tuesday for snow days, but I loved doing it. I can't wait till Izzie is older and starts going to grade school, I loved picking up the girls and hearing what happened in their days.
Well, all of the girls have finally fallen asleep, so, I should head off to bed. 6am again tomorrow! Woosh, I could not imagine being a single mom of 3 kids... God bless all single moms, military wives and parenting teams seperated by jobs or any other reason! Very seriously, there has to be a special place in heaven for you... a secluded place with no alarm clocks and down comforters everywhere!! Hope you all sleep well!!
Bye for now!
